[IRCA] TP 9 Aug Victoria version
In contrast to Gary's experiences at Rockwork 4, this morning's
experience in Victoria was almost exclusively Asian, and the best so
far this season, with a couple of Chinese for certain, and hints of
several others among the many carriers
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
1566 HLAZ man in Chinese on phone, talking to woman in studio who
couldn't get a word in edgewise 1114UT, only briefly this strong however.
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
774 JOUB English lessons 1218UT
972 HLCA man in Korean 1221UT
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
1287 JOHR man in Japanese 1145 and 1153UT
1323 CRI pop vocal 1151UT; at 1159UT it was weaker, but familiar
stringed music before the hour was recognizable
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music)
747 JOIB man talking 1205UT //774
828 JOBB woman talking 1102UT //774
1593 CNR1 portentous stringed music 1201UT, one of CNR1's
themes; man and woman talking 1202UT, Chinese inflection
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter)
594 918 945 963 1053 1089 1134 1143 1179 1188 1206 1215 (rough
sounding) 1242 1251 1269 1386 1422 1575 seemed to be Asian;
1098 1116 seemed to be DU
best wishes,
Nick
