[IRCA] TP 7 Aug Victoria version
Quite lively for some big gun Asiatics until after 1200UT, then a bit
of a bounce for a couple of low band DUs
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
774 JOUB English lesson 1128UT, though the majority of the talk was
Japanese; ending though with "this is Julia, please tune in next time"
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
747 JOIB English lessons 1207UT; if not for 750 splatter would have
been perfectly readable
972 HLCA woman in Korean 1149UT, preceded by androgynous pop vocal
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
612 4QR woman in DU English 1245UT, ID'd with //774 and weak fanfare at 1300UT
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music)
594 3WV woman talking DU English inflection 1214UT; firm ID at 1300UT
with very weak fanfare
774 3LO man talking //612 1245UT
828 JOBB woman talking //774 1138UT, then into familiar interlude music
837 JOQK assumed; very weak with woman talking, NHK pips at 1200UT
1287 man and woman talking, Japanese inflection 1151UT
1566 HLAZ audio traces in and out, but not really certain until
Japanese program started at 1230UT, and even then, ID'd only by the
usual intro music
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter)
594 891 1242 1323 1386 seemed to be Asian;
603 675 756 1098 seemed to be DU
best wishes,
Nick
