[IRCA] TP 9 May Victoria version

Looked like an Asian morning to start, with nothing very special happening. Then a little DU opening exploded around 1230UT, with several audios at the low end of the band. The best of that was finished within 5-10 minutes.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

nope

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

nope

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

the above passing through

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

567 RNZ National man talking 1236UT //756
576 man talking, DU English inflection 1237UT, no parallels available
594 3WV woman talking 1234UT, after that, noticed //774, with a slight delay
603 R. Waatea, slow vocal harmony //765 1232UT
612 man mumbling 1256UT, but gone by hour; nothing much on this channel before this time
675 RNZ National man and woman talking 1234UT //756
702 light music maybe vocals 1235UT, no parallels
756 RNZ National man and woman talking 1234UT //675
765 Radio Kahungunu slow vocal harmony //603 1232UT
774 3LO man and woman talking //594 at 1235UT; seemed to have been mixing with JOUB earlier also
774 man talking Japanese inflection 1148UT
846 woman talking DU English inflection 1233UT, no parallels
1287 man talking Japanese inflection 1143UT
1566 man and woman talking Chinese inflection 1131UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

747 828 972 1242  1323 seemed to be Asian;
585 621 1098 1116 seemed DU

best wishes,

Nick
