[IRCA] TP 2 May Victoria version

A bit better than yesterday, a little Asia to start, then DU's taking over as local sunrise approached

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

nope

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

nope

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

738 2NR man in DU English 1233UT //612 but offset slightly
774 JOUB 1219UT with English lessons
1116 4BC assumed, man in DU English 1148UT
1566 HLAZ assumed; man in Chinese 1217-8UT; sunrise pretty much wiped out the Japanese program

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

612 4QR man in DU English //738 1233UT
639 man talking 1135UT, slow measured tone, perhaps //702? (but not 774...) nothing very strong at this time, but whatever this was, it was DX 702 2BL man talking DU English inflection 1143 and 1220UT; parallel with 612 at various points
747 English lessons 1207UT //774
774 3LO man DU English inflection seemed //738, 612, but lagging
792 man talking DU English inflection ? 1206UT
828 3GI man talking DU English inflection, not //774 which had English lessons 1209-10UT, but //612 with slight delay. 891 man talking, DU English inflection 1137 (and by then 639 had faded, so no //) 981 a puzzler, with woman talking 1209UT, into instrumental organ? music . Only China has been heard here, but not really a Chinese morning today (though 945 had a carrier at the same time)
1323 man talking, Russian inflection 1132UT
1422 man and woman talking, maybe Japanese inflection 1200UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

567 594 945 972  1134 1206  1242 1287 seemed to be Asian;
846 756 1098 seemed DU

best wishes,

Nick
