[IRCA] TP 14 April Victoria version

Not as strong signals as yesterday, but some interesting ones in the lower band....including a couple that I think have not been heard at home before. Almost all Asia, and strongest between 1240 and 1310UT.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

594 JOAK couple of men talking rapidly, seemed to be sports, crowd noise, drumming etc. 1258UT

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

747 JOIB man in Japanese 1242UT
774 JOUB man in Japanese 1247UT
828 JOBB English lessons 1247UT
972 HLCA man in Korean 1240UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

567 JOIK 2 men, sports? //594 1259UT
891 JOHK man in Japanese //594 1351UT
1566 HLAZ man in Japanese 1242UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

531 JOQG man talking //594 1258UT
558 HLQH soft vocal music 1254UT //603
576 NHK1 JOHG? , sports and pips //594 1300UT; whatever it was, NHK1 has not been heard at home before
585 JOPG Japanese sports //594 1259UT, NHK pips on hour as talking continued
603 HLSA soft vocal music 1254UT //558
639 JOIP faded up over JOPB with sports //594, but with JOPB making occasional forays for the next couple of minutes. Extreme minimalist DX at its best 639 JOPB woman talking //774 then man, 1301UT, faded down, and NHK1 faded up, both pretty weak but fairly clear. Think this is new at home.
657 N. Korea assumed with frantic Korean talk by woman, brief fade up 1248UT
666 JOBK man talking //594 1252UT
963 slow choral music 1251UT; possibly //1323, but any audio on that channel was way too imaginary to be sure
1314 woman talking, maybe Japanese 1252UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

711 729 846 864 873 945 981 1053 1134 1143 1179 1242 1323 1332 1386 1422 1494 1503 1575 seemed to be Asian;
 612 702 1098 nothing seemed DU

best wishes,

Nick
