What sounded like a fairly sedate band suddenly came to life during sunrise enhancement around 1350, featuring some potent signals from the Japanese big guns and 972-HLCA. Other Asians joined the party around the same time, although the enhanced propagation seemed to fizzle out pretty quickly after 1400 here.
First band check in the predawn darkness around 1330 only featured some fair signals in and out on 594, 747, 972 and 1566. The first Asians to catch the daylight boost were 594-JOAK and 693-JOAB, with both reaching good peaks around 1345. 972-HLCA soon followed at a good level around 1350, along with a large collection of fair-level TP's (603-HLSA, 657-Pyongyang, 1134-JOQR, 1566-HLAZ on its Chinese service, 1575-VOA and 1593-CNR1). The weaker Asians bailed around 1400 here, although the big guns on 594, 693 and 972 had a few decent peaks after that. All of these Asians were received on a single 5-inch "Frequent Flyer" FSL, which I've been trying to use exclusively in preparation for a trip to Hawaii early next month (during which it should meet a friendly TSA screening agent).
972 HLCA Dangjin, S. Korea Korean female speech at a good level at 1353; one of the best signals of the session (along with 594-JOAK)
