[IRCA] TP 5 Feb Victoria version
That was a morning that had more to it than at first
listening. Almost all Asia. Low band big guns did reasonably well
13-14UT, then there was a two stage pre-sunrise lift, one at about
1440UT, then another at 1510UT.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
774 JOUB English lessons 1510UT (still hanging in faintly with s/off
chimes at 1542UT)
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
594 JOAK man in Japanese 1441UT
747 JOIB brief fade up at 1319UT, man in Japanese
972 HLCA man and woman in Korean 1307UT
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
558 HLQH soft vocal music //weaker 603 1502-4UT
567 JOIK Japanese pop, lively announcers //594
693 JOAB English lessons 1439UT; CBU playing quiet classical music
let this through
828 JOBB man in Japanese //747 1510UT.
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music)
603 HLSA soft vocal music //558 1503UT
603 unID. China? woman talking insistently, maybe Chinese inflection,
not //558 1444UT
873 JOGB man talking //774 1316UT
1386 woman singing, Indian type inflection to the vocals 1438UT, not
//774. Tarana? but little other evidence of DU stations this morning.
1503 JOUK man talking //594 1520UT
1566 man and woman, Chinese inflection, likely HLAZ, 1449UT. Similar
level piano music 1531UT, and very faint w/man talking at 1653UT
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter)
891 1089 1134 1242 1251 1287 1422 1593 seemed to be
Asian; 621 1098 possibly DU
best wishes,
Nick
