[IRCA] TP 26 Jan Victoria version

Not as spectacular as the geomagnetic conditions might suggest, but there was audio, and the old standby HLAZ roused itself after sunrise.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

1566 HLAZ building in strength from 1556UT onwards, then faded slightly at hour, 3 pips, then a brief carrier cut, followed by a return at stronger level with woman in Chinese, followed by a man in Korean giving an FEBC ID.

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

the above passing through

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

594 JOAK woman and man in Japanese 1323-5UT
1593 CNR1 man in Chinese 1544UT, seemed similar to 6125

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

747 JOIB 1543UT wispy music box
774 JOUB 1542UT, weak music box
828 JOBB 1541UT music box
972 HLCA likely; man and woman talking 1533UT, possibly Korean
1503 JOUK woman talking //594 1556UT, both at limit of imaginary
1557 woman talking, Chinese inflection 1557UT
1593 NHK2 music box, mixing with CNR1, 1542UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

558 1044 1287 1386 1575 seemed to be Asian; 738 and 1098 seemed DU during the time I listened

best wishes,

Nick
