You'll never be able to plug an HDMI cable into a USB socket - they have vastly different dimensions, Just use whatever USB cable has the  right connector (assumedly USB micro but maybe USB mini) for your radio.


But as you say any USB power adaptor will likely be OK. The difference between them is the current they provide. So maybe the very bottom end USB adaptors wont have enough current but just try another. They are rated from maybe .2 Amps up to 2 or 3 Amps.

John, presumably you would use a mini HDMI cable or the like to run 5.5 v
from any USB plug.  No need to buy a special plug, in all likelihood.  73,
