The first time I heard 189 was a few years ago on a Tecsun PL-360 using one of DeBock's 7.5-inch ferrite antennas.  It was a surprise I never expected.  France 162 has been has been regularly heard in the winter months for the past four decades.  It'll be sad to see it go.

I've heard nothing from across the pond on medium wave tonight.
