[IRCA] TP 14 Dec Victoria version
It looked like another morning of half-hearted appearances of the big
guns before about 1300UT today....but there were a few signs of life
after 1500UT, and HLAZ pretty much came up with the sun around
1600UT, and stuck around in one form or another until nearly 1730UT
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
the recovery wasn't THAT impressive
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
1566 HLAZ woman in Chinese, then man with FEBC ID 1600UT; returned
to this level several times, particularly after 1700UT, until finally
throwing in the towel around 1730UT
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
1575 VoA ID by man and Yankee Doodle at 1600UT
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music)
594 man mumbling in a Japanese sort of way 1539UT
612 man singing, then man talking to another man on phone, DU English
inflection 1534UT
738 unID strains of Silent Night crept through 1530UT
774 JOUB man declaiming, //828 1509UT
828 JOBB woman and man talking, seemed Japanese 1532-5UT, clinched by
earlier parallel with 774 as well as faint but clear music box until 1545UT
1242 man mumbling, followed by high energy woman, Japanese inflection 1549UT
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter) lots of near audio here
837 891 954 1017 1098 1116
best wishes,
Nick
