It should be remembered Radio Australia actually ceased their North America Service nearly four decades ago.  However, the station's signals to the Pacific area continued to be heard in North America as if it had never ended.  So the opinion of a  listener in the Canada or the USA will have no influence to the ABC.  

I was once a monitor for the BBC, Deutsche Welle, Radio Japan and Radio Nederland, and they are no more.
