- Thread-topic: Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 12-3
As Bill and Richard have reported it was another good day for Asian signals, with several second-tier TP's joining the usual big guns with decent audio at times. Propagation seemed to shift a little from the Chinese stations to those of Japan and Korea, though.
A long session in the cold back yard started at 1200, with very good audio from the Japanese big guns on 594, 693, 747, 774, 828 and 1287, along with the Koreans on 972, 1053 and 1566. Although the Chinese stations on 936, 1017, 1044, 1206 and 1323 were managing some weak audio at times their predawn signals never quite matched yesterday's levels, and the usual second-tier Asians on 603, 657 and 738 also didn't repeat their predawn levels. About the only Chinese stations that went against the trend were the 1035-CNR1 synchros, with their distinctive echoes slightly stronger this morning. The Japanese big guns were especially strong both prior to and after dawn, with 594-JOAK, 693-JOAB, 747-JOIB and 774-JOUB reaching excellent levels at times. 972-HLCA and 1566-HLAZ also had their moments of excellent audio in the predawn darkness from 1200-1400, although their signals seemed to taper off after daybreak. 603-HLSA, 657-Pyongyang and 738-BEL2 all got somewhat of a boost during dawn enhancement (along with 1035-CNR1), but overall ended up weaker than yesterday's levels. The CRI stations on 1017, 1044, 1206 and 1323 also played hide-and-seek during dawn enhancement, with none of them maintaining decent audio for more than a few seconds at a time. By comparison they all had better peaks during yesterday's dawn session. Best signals of the session (all excellent) were from 594, 693, 774, 828 and 1566 in the predawn darkness from 1300-1330.
