[IRCA] Mystery time signal on 790 kHz - receivers...

Maybe so, I don't know - haven't had much success with TA's here because
of all the slop, regardless. But it seems to me that the Grundig is
better with slop than the R75 - the trick is to learn how to use the
sync detector properly (the manual explains it in some detail). I have
WINS on 1010 here, a very powerful station that slops down and covers
up WBBM Chicago on 1000 almost to the point of being inaudible - I can
filter out MOST of it with the R75, but with the Grundig sync detector
I can block out WINS almost completely and get a very clear clean
signal for WBBM 1000. I have also been able to filter out WNYC on 820
well enough to get a fairly clean read on WCCO 830 in Minneapolis. And
the Grundig can block out WBBM on 1130 to get me a clear read on WRVA
1140 - much better than I could do with the R75 and less work too!
