[IRCA] Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 11-26

Once again a fairly good selection of Asian signals hit the skids between 1300 and 1430, leaving only a few big gun TP's around just prior to daybreak. The band sounded very promising around 1245 with potent signals from the usual big guns on 594, 693, 747,774, 972, 1053 and 1566, as well as fair to good audio from 738-BEL2 and 1044-CRI. Both 603-HLSA and 657-Pyongyang were in weak audio, and the Chinese stations on 1035, 1206, 1323 and 1593 were at threshold level. All this changed from 1315-1430 with the Chinese stations the first to fade, followed by all the other second-tier Asians. 1044-CRI's Japanese had been easy to copy around 1305 but the station couldn't even manage a carrier at 1430. With the exception of Wednesday's unusually good session this collapsing predawn propagation pattern has continued for most of the week. Currently (at 1450) only 774-JOUB and 1566-HLAZ are in weak audio, with all the other Japanese and Korean big guns reduced to carrier level.

As reported earlier (to Nigel), the 1566-N.K. Jammer has been using a different sound than it did last September. The "buzzing bee" pulse every two seconds is still there, but the loudest sound now is a harsh pulsing tone of about 2000 Hz, pulsing in two second cycles in between the "buzzing bee" pulses. This was the 1566-Jammer's signal this morning at 1315, interfering with HLAZ's Japanese service: https://app.box.com/s/gg15dn3r7k30hl9kjnif3zqs2ctgcmzq The Jammer has been matching HLAZ's strength fairly well when it shows up, but it seems to be turned off recently by 1400.

1044 CRI Jiangsu, China Japanese service at fair to good level at 1305, but soon collapsed along with all the other second-tier Asians by 1400
