Re: [IRCA] In need of...

Paul,

Most portables which have high-sensitivity on MW use long loopsticks, and don't include a separate external antenna connector for the MW frequencies. Some exceptions would be the Sony ICF-S5W (high sensitivity on MW with an external antenna connector, but no digital readout and a serious image frequency issue) and the Eton E1 (which apparently meets all your requirements, but which has been discontinued, and weighs more than most table receivers). The details on the Eton E1 are posted at http://www.universal-radio.com/catalog/portable/0101.html As for how it operates in the subfreezing cold, I have no idea. But it's certainly heavy enough to stay put in hurricane-level winds.

Subject: [IRCA] In need of...

I need a radio with an accurate digital read out that will tune 9khz split
channels, has excellent selectivity/sensitivity, is a bit harsh and can
withstand cold.. But it also MUST have a jack for an external AM antenna,
preferably a 3.5mm or pl259/so239 type connection.

Any leads/ideas?
