Thanks for following up with Southern Avionics. These guys were my first
suspect late last night when I first heard this mystery beacon on 1650 but
we can rule them out now. Now that more people are aware of it, it'll be
interesting if it appears again tonight. I can't provide any good bearing
from my location, only to confirm that it was best on my South D-KAZ.
Based on your DF reading, maybe an oil rig platform out in the Gulf
somewhere? I dunno but I like a good mystery too!
