[IRCA] TP 24 Oct Victoria version
A messy morning, plenty of splash, erratic carriers, maybe some gold
in the murk, but not enough time to dredge. Seemed to be mostly low
band Asians, with the emphasis on the big guns.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
567 JOIK NHK1 interlude music, man saying "kombonwa" 1415UT
594 JOAK NHK1 interlude music, man saying "kombonwa" 1415UT,
maintained this level for about 10 minutes
747 JOIB Chinese lessons 1351UT
774 JOUB English lessons 1423UT and for a few more minutes, not a
stellar performer before this
972 HLCA men in Korean briefly at this level 1411UT
1053 Korean jammer 1352UT
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
702 NHK2. A messy channel: pop music 1352UT may have been 2BL?, but
a real burblefest at 1414UT complete with a likely North Korean hum
and NHK2 struggling through it. NHK2 peaked 1423UT , English lessons.
738 Tahiti man in French 1406UT
828 JOBB English lessons 1405UT
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
558 JOCR likely, man in Japanese, sports broadcast? 1406UT....likely
HLQH heard at other times, but 603 parallel was hard to find at the
right moment
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music)
711 man talking 1409UT, could be Korean, fighting with splash, into music.
819 woman talking, maybe Korean? 1412UT
873 JOGB Chinese lessons //747 1351UT
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter) lots of near audio here
846 864 891 1098 1206
best wishes,
Nick
