Re: [IRCA] [ABDX] 9/30/16 DU chase from IL

Tim and Neil,

Receiving 738-NZ (Magic) so far inland would seem to be a stretch. I don't think that anyone in North America has heard it outside of the ocean coast, and probably only on the ocean cliffs recently.

Bruce does a great job with the PAL list.
http://www.radioheritage.net/pal.asp which also lists the Kiwi's as //.
However, surely you had Oz as did I. At 1133 there was decent level mx on
738. It soon ended. At about 1134 the gal says ABC for sure and then
there's some promo by a man. I think he said "footie" which is Aussie
football. Then another ABC ment by her. Anyhow a bit of a nuisance
overnight to have both NZ and Aus. 702/738 respectively.

Podcasts are available for a few days at the ABC 702 site. Keep in mind the
time difference and dateline. This morning here 1100 UTC (6 am
Friday Chicago) was 9 pm in Sydney Friday. Oz goes to DST very soon.

Podcasts for a 3 hour program seem to be almost 2:55 long and seem to start
about 5 minutes after the hour. ie if you hear something at about 1155
check what would correspond to 1150 in podcast.

Podcasts for 702/738 and 612 Brisbane (not //) have helped make me 100%
certain than I am not dreaming this. More Aussie audio has been heard this
week than I've heard in 22 years combined at this QTH.

Many low banders are at near or threshold levels. Very careful Perseus use
has convinced me that a couple mornings (more today) there's some DU
accented talk on 729.
