Somebody should come up with an SDR that allows stereo reception by having two internal phased-locked receivers fed by two separate antennas.
In this area, for instance, if using two bidirectional loops such as ALA-1530's (one N-S, one E-W), you could record the band mid-evening with the N-S loop on the "left" radio and the E-W on the "right" one.
The replay would show the two received spectrum plots and, out of your headphones, would be the audio on a given frequency with the appropriate antenna feed contribution going to the appropriate ear.
On 700 here for instance, the left (N-S) headphone would mostly be giving you Colombia over Brazil and the right (E-W) headphone mostly WLW.
Of course another thing that would be cool would be if the receiver could phase Antenna A against Antenna B, eliminating the need for outboard boxes.
Maybe such a receiver already exists?

Congrats on the Aussies, Kaz! Nothing nearly as good here on my unattended
recordings I made from 1045-1200 UTC this morning. Lots of high band DU
carriers in the usual places but nothing close to approaching audio from my
D-KAZ aimed due north. Low band DU hets (and the rare audio) like your
612, 702 & 738 always favor my southwest BOGs, and high band stuff is
always better on the north D-KAZ. I'm beginning to think two SDRs would be
nice for unattended recordings :-)
