Re: [IRCA] Rain, but no South Pacific

Dennis,
I take it you mean you haven't heard Hawaii lately or maybe just this season? If not, these are the three Hawaiians I've gotten from this QTH so far, 650 KHNR, 760 KGU, 900 KNUI. I figure if I got 'em, then maybe they're the easier ones to catch. KNUI was the stand-out with classic Hawaiian music. In other words, when it came in, it could'nt be confused with Village 900 or KBIF.

How's your EWE set up ie. branches/masts, top/bottom fed and how do you move it.  (I have my hypothesis')

Subject: [IRCA] Rain, but no South Pacific

Good Morning,

776 kHz Japan in with JJ talk by man, fair.  0948.  Went out in the rain and moved the EWE from SE to SW in hopes of hearing Hawaii, Tahiti, or Fiji.  Only have about 5 mph of wind here..  Temperature about 47 degrees and rain.  Kind of strange that I have heard Germany, Norway, Thailand  but no Hawaiian stations. Remember back in the 60's when KORL could be heard quite often, or even hearing KIMO Hilo with 1 kw.  Good luck this morning DXing.
