[IRCA] TP 24 Sep Victoria version

That developed into a bit of an Aussie morning, with good Asian signals beforehand, but with quite erratic fading. Going through every channel from 1335 to 1345UT might have been an interesting exercise, as there were a couple of stations kicking around on several channels at various times. Mostly Aussies coming to the fore?

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

let's just say that the usual suspects were doing well, but subject to fading. I don't think I'd include 828 and 594 though, though they had their moments

612 4QR Saturday Night Country 1357UT

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

567 JOIK man in Japanese //594 1324UT
594 JOAK never really more than this level; 3WV was giving it fits fairly early on, even before other Aussies started to appear
873 JOGB woman in Japanese //774 1335UT
1287 JOHR two men and woman talking Japanese 1334UT, much hilarity

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:
549 2CR woman in DU English 1322UT //612
603 HLSA quiet vocal music //558 1337UT
675 2CO man in DU English 1324, 1337 and 1352UT. Last time was //612 and lagging it slightly 693 JOAB woman in English //774 (and actually stronger) 1314UT; beating down the CBU splash 891 JOHK man talking //594 (& stronger) 1319UT, other station(s) there too, especially earlier
918 man in Chinese briefly 1327UT
981 CNR1 man in Chinese 1317UT //639
738 2NR woman talking, somewhat //612 1339UT
1044 CRI assumed, man in Japanese 1306UT
1206 Yanbian likely with woman in Korean, another woman agreeing 1314UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

576 // 792 2RN/4RN jazz 1347UT
639 woman talking across 1400UT, best 1403UT, likely DU English, not //612 or 702 (5CK?)
657 operatic choral music 1337UT
702 complete mess with hum, NHK2 //774 and 2BL //774
711 woman and man talking in 710 splash 1332UT, Korean? Chinese? former more likely?
837 JOQK man talking //594 1357UT
864 slow vocal music 1352UT
1035 man mumbling 1311UT, but English inflection?
1143 man talking, Chinese inflection 1340UT
1242 JOLF? man talking Japanese infleection 1337UT
1323 huge carrier 1336UT, traces of talk;
1386 NHK2 man talking //774 1345UT
1593 CNR1 woman talking //639 1320UT (no interference with 1566 though)
(and quite a number of other puzzles ....)

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter) lots of near audio here

 531 855 945 1008 1062 1098 1107 1161 1188 1197 1251 1503 1575

best wishes,

Nick
