Listened this morning from 13:25 to 14:17 UTC. Conditions, though not as
superb as a few days ago, were still very nice. Reception was especially
good in the lower half of the band, although the upper band yielded some
decent audio as well. Although, primarily an Asian morning (Japan and
Korea), there was some DU activity, with 549 being my surprise logging with
English at 13:50 and after, presumed 2CR (although I could not find an
on-line feed to confirm). Unfortunately, by 14:00, conditions
deteriorated without any major enhancement after that. I'm enjoying Nick's
method of reporting, so I'll use the same today:
Pretty darn good audio:
549: presumed 2CR at and after 13:50
702: 2BL Sydney at 13:47
747: JOIB
774: JOUB
972: HLCA A very powerful signal this morning, continuing past 14:00.
1566: HLAZ
Reasonable audio at times:
576: 2RN at 13:49. Best heard on my ALA 100 aimed to Australia
828: JOBB
1116: 4BC at 14:00
1134: HLKC or JOQR
Not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases:
567: JOIK
603: HLSA
738: not 100% sure who. Didn't listen long enough.
756: unid
792: EZL music at 13:43
891: JOHK plus a cochannel noted.
1053: Korean jammer
1098: OC
1287: JOHR
Burbles in the Splatter:
531, 558, 585, 594
819: Buzz. 2 transmitters on 819.000 and 819.074
837, 909, 927, 945, 1008, 1017, 1143, 1161, 1242, 1323, 1575, 1593
Strongish het, with imaginary or near-audio:
612, 639, 765, 936, 1107, 1206 (Yanbian: on off-frequency), 1611.
SF was 86 today A index 4, and K (12:00) 1. No space weather for the
past, nor predicted for next 24 hours.
73, from Victoria, BC Walt Salmaniw
