[IRCA] TP 21 Sep Victoria version
Still lively, but my impression was that signals weren't quite as
solid; more prone to fading. Some Aussies appeared, but still mostly
Asia, and I likely missed some of the more common ones.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
594 man in Japanese 1349UT, but often quite weak.
612 4QR man in DU English, woman being interviewed 1335UT. By
1342UT, at this level and //738
774 JOUB Chinese lessons 1337UT and many other times,
828 JOBB violin with oriental tone, then into Chinese lesson theme
music 1345UT
972 HLCA operatic style singing by man and woman, decided oriental
flavor 1333UT. Sometimes it's best just to stop and listen, then
get annoyed as the splatter starts to cover things again
1053 Korean jammer 1342UT
1566 HLAZ man in Japanese 1237UT but not that reliably strong
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
693 JOAB Chinese lessons theme music 1345UT, man in Japanese, //774
which was in a fade just then and not as good as this....even with
the 690 splatter
747 JOIB Chinese lessons 1339UT
873 JOGB Chinese lessons //774 which was in a fade 1336UT
954 JOKR man in Japanese 1350UT
1017 CRI presumed woman in Korean 1337UT
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
558 HLQH soft female talk 1354UT //603 which was much weaker. Seemed
to be another station on 558 also; Japan?
738 a mess music and talk; think there was something //1143 at
1342UT, but definitely woman talking //612 1343UT for infrequent 2NR.
792 4RN country sounding pop //585 1335UT
837 JOQK woman in Japanese //594 1346UT
891 JOHK man in Japanese //594 1339UT
963 woman in Russian, assumed CRI, 1345UT
981 CNR1 Chinese talk by man //6125 1337UT
1089 JOHB Chinese lessons 1348UT, lots of 1090 splatter.
1116 Chinese talk by man 1346UT, better on north Flag; CNR5 has been
heard here, but don't think this early in the season.
1242 JOLF woman in Japanese 1353 and 1357UT
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music)
585 7RN countryish pop //792 1335UT
702 NHK2 Chinese lessons //774 1336UT, someone else too
702 unID man talking insistently, seemed DU English but not //612
1343UT o/u NHK2
945 NHK1 synchros man talking //594 1338UT
1143 a mess 1342UT, and not much better 1350UT, woman talking,
Chinese inflection; also a man talking from another station? woman
talking seemed parallel to 738, so Taiwan Fisheries
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter) lots of near audio here
639 684 756 846 855 864 909 918 936 1035 1098 1107 1134 1179 1251 1269
best wishes,
Nick
