[IRCA] TP 6 Sep Victoria version
Recording foul ups today meant mostly live listening after 1300UT;
Asian, more on the upper band, followed by some traces of New Zealand
and maybe an Aussie. What was intriguing was 1287 which was blowing
off the doors a bit, while the big guns were mostly so so. In fact,
774 and 594 were often MIA.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
828 JOBB not really strong but very clear, man in Japanese 1319UT
1287 JOHR man in Japanese 1316UT, pretty much the biggest overseas
signal on the band at times
1566 HLAZ particularly strong 1309UT "FEBC desu" by woman, much
Japanese talk following, amazing level for couple of minutes.
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
747 JOIB English lessons about "one of the most intelligent animals" 1322UT
1053 Korean jammer 1301UT, 1319UT
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
972 HLCA pips 1300UT,musical interlude, woman in Korean
1116 4BC assumed, man in DU English 1333UT
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music)
567//675 RNZ National, man and woman mumbling 1331UT, also a few minutes later
891 NHK style pips on hour, woman talking, but no parallel available;
pretty weak
909 solft vocal music 1327UT, Star?
1107 man talking 1325-6UT, too much IBOC and other crud to guess language
1242 woman talking, Japanese inflection 1322UT into pop music
1269 JOHW/JOFM woman talking faintly, but //1287 1319UT
1314 man talking, didn't really sound Japanese? 1318UT
1422 pop music 1321UT
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter)
882 1152 1179 1188 1197 1413 1494 1593
best wishes,
Nick
