I say up the limit to like 500k-1meg, tops. Would allow for long logs to be posted but keep audio files off the list.

I agree with Paul. Since (in the present configuration) we are limited to plain text anyway, formatted documents, audio, pictures, and video are off the table. Unless the whole list scheme is changed, you'll need to put your DOC, PDF, PPT, XLS, WAV, MP3, AVI, etc. files somewhere else that can be accessed via hyperlink in your plain text.
1 meg will cover any plain text DXpedition report. Even the biggest Newfie, Grayland, Rockworks, and Lemmenjoki ones clock in at less than that.
35k limit is sillier than a silly ballgame. A two hour Perseus session at any serious coastal DXpedition site will give you more material than you can post with any adequate degree of description.
Has anyone thought of going to a Yahoo Group, as is done by the UK's Medium Wave Circle and some local DX groups (e.g. Cape Cod DXers, Boston Area DXers)?
Yahoo provides file storage that is adequate for photo's, DOC/PDF articles, and short audio clips. Perseus / Elad / Excalibur / Afedri captures? You're on your own for that. Box, Dropbox, Mediafire and others are out there. A limited amount of free sharing is possible though pay-to-play is necessary for power users.
Guy Atkins once had a great site "Five Below" where Perseus users could share captures but since that went away, there's no single "go to" zone for that activity now.
Colin Newell was doing some work on a revised IRCA webpage. I'm not sure if an email server was part of the plan.
