This post brings back memories of the mid-70s when the WABY call was
associated with a 1 kw station (at least I think it was 1 kw) that was
located in Colonie, NY, (just north of Albany, not far from where I grew
up) which operated on 1400 khz. I used to listen the Amazin' Mets on them
as well as the National Lampoon Radio Hour. This station and WTRY (980
khz.) and WPTR (1540 khz.) were my BCB listening favs.
