I suspect many car radios can be switched  between  9kHz and 10 kHz spacing, though few have a front panel switch.  This would be especially true if the car is designed for the international market.  In my Saab 9-5, you can go between US and European mode if you push and hold the seek button while turning on the radio.  There's no telling what  methods other manufacturers use, or how well they document them..
