Patrick,
True. Dreaming seems to be what I have been doing.
What started me looking at the S350 were comments about it being a good
value, which I'm sure it is. For quite some time I have had a Panasonic
RF-B45, and keep thinking there must be a substantially better portable
after all these years, but have not succeeded in finding one. The S350
seemed a good candidate, but the B45 has SSB -- though really a manual
BFO control -- which I would like any replacement to at least match.
What I really wanted was a true USB/LSB switchable mode. Therein, it
seems, is my dreaming, not unlike your own.
The RF-B45 new cost was about $200 back in '93, so maybe I should raise
my price threshold.
This has been a very casual pursuit, so resuming the search is just part
of the fun.
Thanks for the info,
Curt
