428 feet, actually.
It's one of the finest of the old "class III" ("regional") signals out
there, and one of a very tiny handful that were protected in such a way
that they could run 5 kW non-directional both day and night. A few others
include KFRC San Francisco (also on 610) and KVI Seattle (570).
In some regards, that 610 facility is superior overall to the 50 kW punch
of 710 and 810 in Kansas City. Both of them have to directionalize rather
sharply at night, limiting their signals in areas that 610 reaches just fine.
The excellent ground conductivity doesn't hurt, either.
If I were Entercom, I'd give at least a bit of thought to moving KMBZ to
610 - but then, the 980 signal's nothing to sneeze at, either. (KC really
is a good AM town...)
