Re: [IRCA] 1240 KLOA Ridgecrest

1240 from Ridgecrest is almost DX in Palmdale but the Riverside station (KEZY) usually is heard. KLOA uses 800 watts into a 50 to 60 foot tower over a nearly disappeared ground system, and barely makes it out of the high, high desert. There are more than 50 miles from Ridgecrest to Palmdale. Format is, in theory, nostalgia. However, the owner lives in Palmdale, and they might be doing a dual city ID for vanity.

Subject: [IRCA] 1240 KLOA Ridgecrest

Hi All, This morning I caught what I think might be a tentative ID and partial location for KLOA.  At 0300pdt, I heard what sounded like "1240 KLOA .....-......  Palmdale".  Do they ID like this?  Palmdales' not that close, but it is considered in the same valley so to speak.   Also,  heard an ID that doesn't seem to jibe with anything a split second before the KLOA one. Sounded like "KLQI or KOQI or KIQI"-obviously not the last one, hi.  Ideas, comments.
