I do think that discussions, such as your own questions about digital
bandwidth, number of HD channels on AM, etc., are useful to DXers.
Hopefully, we will have a communications grade receiver that can decode HD
soon, and much of this will be important to know. 

In other words, is HD a DX opportunity? If we keep it to the understanding
of HD, as well as discussions of what new HD station converts do as to Dxing
in tier vicinity, we are staying the DX course.

Thanks. I have been afraid of this again. Maybe it is time to move on
again and discuss something else. We get on IBOC and I know it drives
others away. We should be more considerate of them too.
I even get caught up in it too.
