Re: [IRCA] Radio format and a new station in Spokane,Wa.

A few AM stations are picking up Oldies formats...is Spokane one market that lost an FM Oldies station?

Even though Chicago lost its FM Oldies station to "Jack", the format is still on AM (WRLL 1690). New York no longer has its Oldies station on over-the-air radio.

St. Louis lost a Smooth Jazz station to get "Jack"; we really have no Oldies (the format at KLOU 103.3 is a softer form of Classic Hits; the last AM Oldies station is now Classic Country). St. Louis will be getting an element of "Smooth Jazz", namely Contemporary Jazz, for 90 minutes a week this coming Friday (9/9).

It's appalling to see the lack of "maverick" broadcasters in radio nowadays; the kind brave enough to invest in new talent (especially LOCAL talent) and new programming ideas.
