I ran a ground wave band scan today here in
west central Florida comparing the S350 and ATS-909, with my homebrewed 2 foot
box loop as an antenna. The S350 won hands down, hearing 4 stations that the
ATS-909 could not and recovering audio from 5 stations that were only subaudible
carriers on the ATS-909. Even
more amazing is that the S350 heard all of the same stations that the FT-1000MP
Mark V did.
I also found that the narrow audio
bandwidth was more effective at reducing adjacent QRM than I first thought and
that the SW low pass filter also works real good on medium wave too.
