Don, 

Tell him to buy a Mac-Mini. They are $499 and there ain't no virii to mess
them up. I never thought I'd buy a Mac but I have been nothing but extremely
happy with mine. 

I use MS Office for Mac and every file is interchangeable with a PC. If
there is some odd program, which I haven't found yet, I have a program that
allows me to run any Windows program.

Not having to mess with virus scanners, spybots, anti ad and pop-up programs
and that stuff is worth its weight in gold.
