Pat,

	I refill black cartridges all the time & it worked just fine.  One thing
they recommend is to refill empty cartridges promptly (i.e. don't let
them sit around empty for weeks before refilling).  I don't know why you
had poor results -- hard to analyze from 600 miles away.
