Re: [IRCA] TIS question:Is this really a Tizzy?

In response to the KLBC on 1700.    It started out as KLON on 88.1.  It was located at Long Beach City College - Pacific Coast Campus (on Pacific Coast Highway). The KLON (KKJZ) transmitter was and is on top of Signal Hill.    State law required all city or community colleges to incorporate as a seperate district.   LBUSD sold the KLON to Cal State Univ at Long Beach (to a dummy corp CSULB Foundation - that builds parking structures and other buildings) and has become  KKJZ  - K-Jazz.   That left Long Beach City College without a radio station.   They started a carrier current on 1700 at the LAC Campus (Clark and Carson) after using a landline to the campus lounge.    Cerritos Community Collge - in Norwalk had bought the 10 watt transmitter from CSU-LB that was run by the Student body on 90.1.  CSU had to turn off 90.1 when they bought 88.1.  But because 90.1 was a t! en watt Class D -- Cerritos never applied.   Cerritos applied for a FCC TIS license on 1700 and BUMPED Long Beach City College to 1680.     The 1700 KLBC was and is a carrier current -non-licensed station.  MTM
