It goes back to the early 1960's.   KLON 88.1 ( Now KJZZ Cal State Univ LB Foundation)  was owned by the LB City School District (LBUSD).   The State Law was changed and the City Owned College had to form a College District.  (LBCCD LB Community College District).   KLON was on one of two College Campuses.  But the School District - that owned it - sold it to the CSULDF -- instead of transfering it to the LBCCD.   "City Collge" had been operating the KLON station and was then forced to go "Closed Carrier". It used VOCC - for Voice of City College and then found room on AM and used the UN-authorized Calls.     Cerritos Community College District applied for a TIS and took over 1700.  LB City keeps moving around.   mike
