WNTP 990khz Philadelphia, PA
TEST
Date(s): March 12, 2005 (Late Friday night into
Saturday morning)
Time: 00:00AM EST until 02:00AM EST (2
Hour Test)
Modes of Operation: 50kw Day Pattern
Programming: 50hz thru 10khz test tones,
Phonetic Voice ID's, Dead Air
Notes: CE Rene Tetro will be conducting an audio
proof of the transmitter
after making some changes to the system. Mr. Tetro
will be measuring
frequency response, THD, and IMD products of WNTP
while running
full power on the day time antenna. If time
permits, he will repeat these
tests using the standard 10kw night pattern.
This is not a DX test. There will be no Morse Code
ID's, and frequently
there will be "dead air". It is hoped that DX'ers
will be able to hear some
of the tones, especially those in the 2-4khz range.
Tones will be transmitted at four modulation
levels: 95%,
75%, 50%, and 25%. Rene has also agreed to run some
limited
phonetic voice ID's. These will be a high pitched
female voice,
identifying the station in phonetics.
THIS IS WNTP PERFORMING TRANSMITTER
TESTING. WNTP. WHISKEY NORWAY TANGO PAPA TESTING.

Rene will send out QSL cards, but please be
patient.
Special thanks to Rene Tetro for alerting us to
this transmitter test, and agreeing to run the
provided phonetic ID's. Hopefully
conditions will be less AU than during the recent
WNTP DX test.
