It is impossible for more DXer involvement in commercial broadcasting, given the anti-DXer sentiment going on in commercial broadcasting these days. Had there been more DXer involvement in commercial broadcasting, not only in management, but also in the on-air presentation.
DXers are very good business people...unfortunately, it's people who are not good businessmen who are running the stations. Lowry Mays is not a very good businessman, simply because he refuses to invest his money in the talent who would have helped shape the future of broadcasting. I wouldn't purchase a station in the middle of nowhere, but rather, in a small town, preferably an AM station that can reach St. Louis from a small town.
DXers know how to run radio stations in a community-sensitive way...corporate owners don't, to be honest with you.
