I think it must have been wishful thinking on
my part. On 1090 I would have stood a very good chance of hearing it, but
not on 1060 with CKMX beaming directly at me. Most of those Calgary
stations are very difficult, but not impossible, to get by, and last
night they seemed to be more potent than ususal. So no, the test was not
heard up here.
"but not impossible" is the phrase, Mike. Years ago, Don
Moman, Mick Delmage and I were DXing at Pembina Forks (somewhat closer to
Calgary) and managed to phase two Beverages together to null Calgary on
660 down sufficiently to hear WNBC off the back of said
Beverages.
Unfortunately, this test was not as successfully heard here as WNBC was
all those years ago. Just a few whoops and some code snippets
around 0012-0013 PST, mostly under, well, Calgary. Splatter from my
local on 1070 didn't help either, and nulling it must have nulled KTNS
quite well also.
best wishes for Christmas to everybody,
Nick
