There's also a 1260 weather transmitter somewhere on the west coast of
Vancouver Island (near Tofino/Uclulet?). I've heard it at Grayland as
recently as last September.
Right, Bruce. This is the Pacific Rim National Park Radio which I agree is
a regular in Grayland, especially during the day (when everyone else is
usually sleeping!). I believe that the transmitter is in the park, just
south of Tofino.

Perhaps, Bill, you were monitoring the National Park broadcast, but that's
not audible here in Victoria. I'm on the ferry regularly, and can confirm
that the 1260 transmitter at Swartz Bay has been off for some years now
(probably about 5 or so).......Walt Salmaniw
