Re: [IRCA] If you're a Northern California DXer, you're in luck tonight!

Let us pause to return to those thrilling days of yesteryear when I lived in California (less than 100 miles from KCBS) and stations actually had SPs. As I recall this incident occurred around 3 or 4 in the AM on a winter Monday morning in the late 60's. KCBS was off with its USUAL SP. I was hearing a station on 740, but couldn't quite get it past threshold level. Headphones were pressed against my ears. Hmmm, maybe if I crank up the volume. Even to this day, I vividly recalled what happened next. One has not lived the life of a DXer until they have heard a station ID, such as -- "This is KCBS, San Francisco, testing," with 50,000 watts of ear-splitting power. Such are the trials and tribulations of a (then) young DXer, hi!
