Hi everyone, I did some antenna work yesterday and finally got around to
making a few baluns for my long wire antennas and I could not believe the
amount of difference that made! I checked my "target" stations and they
were both quieter and stronger. This morning at 0700 I tuned to 1610 where
nothing but noise has been heard in a long time and I am hearing at least 4
TIS stations on here. They are all repeating loops and one of them says
"Welcome to (Reeves??)--Alabama This is WTVX????------ and then the
modulation drops to where I can't here what is being said very well. The
other is in Oconee County GA with a website given as www.oconeecounty.com
then the call letters and advice to carry an extra flashlight and portable
radio tuned to this station along with mentions about special needs
citizens. They give an address for the Emergency Management agency office
located in the government annex building 1291 Greensboro highway
Watkinsville (GA). How much power do these things run and any ideas about
what I heard. I recorded 40 minutes of it in MP3 files so if anyone wants
to try and figure out the call letters I'd gladly go through and pick out
the clearest ID sections for someone to take a shot at. I am really curious
about the power on these things.
Thanks in advance
Best regards,
John Hunter
Rossville GA
