S 2 signal level.  Suprised so find this one.  Audible with some fades.
Music program with male announcer in EE at tune in.  Tentive id heard

4,052.5, GUATEMALA, Radio Verdad, 0213-0216, Feb 26, Spanish/English, Female
announcer in SS with intro to next song at tune in.  Male announcer, or
preacher at 0214 with long talks in SS.  S 5 with fades and some noise

4,319.0, BRITISH INDIAN OCEAN TERRITORY (U.K.), AFRTS, 0021-0028, Mar 10,
English, Sports program in progress at tune in.  S3 signal level.  Had
to use narrow bandwidth due to co channel use of rtty. Program is about
the NFL draft situation.  0026 to baseball and spring training. Program
is audible but a little weak.  ID as American Forces Network at 0030.

4,780.0, GUATEMALA, Radio Cultural Coatan, 0147-0205, Mar 6, Spanish, Having
some problems with their audio equipment.  Sounds like possible tape deck
sticking at times and changing speeds.  S3 level with local music.  Male
announcer in SS with announcements on occassion.  Tenitive id heard at
0202 by male announcer (R. Montgomery,PA)

4,965.0, ZAMBIA, Christian Voice, 0048-0125, Mar 6, English, Weak at tune
in, but audible above noise floor.  Male announcer at 0100 with
announcements
in EE.  Lots of QRN making it difficult to copy. Continous music with
female announcer on occassion.  Female with possible id at 0120 but not
totally positive.  Station jingle with id at 0121. (R. Montgomery,PA)

5,055.0, COSTA RICA, Faro del Caribe, 0012-0040, Feb 12, Spanish/English,
Male announcer with mx program.  S 9 level with fades.  Slightly over
modulated and makes for difficult copy of announcer.  Id is presumed.
No EE heard, only SS.  News items at 0030.  Some side channel chatter

5,446.5, UNITED STATES, AFRTS, 2355-0005, Mar 9, English, Talks about the
US brain drain to other countries.  Program called "Market Place" at 2357.
Broadcast in EE.  Id at 2358 as "American Public Media".  Talks about
where the best place on a bus to sit to avoid terrorist.  0000 id as AFN.
News items with talks about an up coming speech by President Bush. (R.

6,055.0, SPAIN, Radio Exterior de España, 0157-0201, Feb 26, Spanish, Some
very nice music at tune in. Some slight fades but 10/s9 to 20/9 at times.
ID at toh with some qrm from another arabic station underneath .  Male

6,100.0, CANADA, Radio Canada International, 0152-0155, Feb 26, Spanish,
Interesting but sounds like a jammer in the back ground on this one in
SS.  Jammer not very strong but is audible.  Some of the program with

6,115.0, ALBANIA, Radio Tirana, 0250-0356, Feb 26, English, Female with
news items in English.  Nice.  ID at o249 as R. Tirana.  Audio very nice.
Female with heavy accent but very nice to listen to.  Talks about the
area, places to visit.0251 Sports prg.  Nice interludes of local music
in back ground between items.  signal level at 20/s9 with slight fades
to 10/s9.  0255, female, says Good Bye from R. Tirana, bird in back ground.

Weak but audible at S7 signal level.  Female announcer with talks.  Local
music at 0145, pop tune.  ID by female annoucner at 0148.  Program, Week
in Review at this time.  Have had this oen better in the past. (R.

6,165.0, NETHERLANDS ANTILLES, Radio Nederland Wereldomroep, 0144-0155,
Feb 26, English, Very nice copy in EE.  Program about death.  Not such
a pleasant topic on a Saturday nite.  Some slight fades at S9 signal level.

6,185.0, MEXICO, Radio Educacion (Mexico), 0116-0125, Mar 10, Spanish,
ID in SS at 0118 by male announcer.  Then to EE at 0119.  Talking about
mx artistic programs.  ID again at 0019 plus url and email address.  Then
to a ballad in SS.  Excellent recption with 20/s9 peaks with some fades.

6,185.0, MEXICO, Radio Educacion (Mexico), 0203-0205, Feb 26, Spanish,
Id in English as well as Spanish.  Female with news items in SS at this
time.  S5 signal level and fairly steady. (R. Montgomery,PA)

6,612.0, ZIMBABWE, ZBC Harare, 0236-0250, Feb 26, Shona/Ndebele/..., Spur
on 6612 in nicely. Male announcer with id at 0235.  Playing some rather
nice African music.  S5 signal level with fades to near noise floor at
times.  Nice music.  Harmonic of 3306.  Male annoucner again at 0242 with
brief announcements and back to some really nice music. Rechecked on 06
March, 0100 to past 0300 and was booming in at S7 level.  Great music.
Complete id and addresses provided in EE at 0200.  Excellent copy, recorded

7,130.0, THAILAND, Voice of America, 0030-0050, Feb 22, English, Weak but
audible with lots of co channel chatter.  S9 signal level.  New items
at tune in.  Excerts from various local plays and movies.  Interviews
of varous singers and actors.  Most required translators.  Some slight
fades but totally audible at this time.  Interviews by female announcer.

mentioned
several times as was the US.  In Russian language with news items a toh
by male announcer.  S6 signal level with slight fades.  Several jingles

7,230.0, SLOVAK REPUBLIC, Radio Slovakia International, 0102-0115, Feb
22, English, Female announcer in EE with intro to 30 minute program.
Male annoucner with full id at 0105.  Sports items mostly like that of
hockey games at the olympics.  Claim to be in Hockey mania.  Male announcer
with break down of games. Excellent audio with occassional signal peaks
of 30/s9 and back to 20/s9. (R. Montgomery,PA)

7,260.0, MONGOLIA, Radio Ulaanbaatar, 0920-1005, Mar 6, Mongolian, Very
weak reception with S3 signal level.  Some fades.  Male annoucner in local
language with lots of Mongolian music.  Difficult copy and id is strickly
tentive.  No id heard at boh.  TOH might have been the id by female
announcer.

7,285.0, CROATIA, Croatian Radio, 2316-2325, Mar 5, English, Id at 2315
by male announcer and then on to news items in English.  Nice copy at
s8 level with some fades.  Talks about property rights by Croatians.
Id again at 2317 by female announcer.  Sports at 2320. WX forecast.  QRM
from ham at 2321.  Id again in EE at 2321.  Mx in local language, 2322.

announcer
with id at 2223 in news broadcast.  Listed as in Arabic but heard in EE
at this time.  Id again at 2225. Language change to Arabic at 2225.  Male
announcer wtih talks in Arabic with music interludes at 2228. (R.

7,335.0, VATICAN CITY, Vatican Radio, 0148-0155, Mar 8, English, CHU giving
good competition for reception here.  S9 Vatican Radio in English.  Some
slow deep fades at times.  But audible with CHU dominate.  Not // to 7305.

S3 signal level with some fades to near noise floor.  ID at NPR with
info on sat freqs and website url at 2257 by female announcer.  NPR news

7,811.0, UNITED STATES, AFRTS, 2247-2255, Mar 5, English, Basketball in
progress at tune in.  Weak but audible.  Appears to be on 7811 and not
the listed 7812.5. Mavericks and Phoenix Suns.  Signal improving as time

9,875.0, LITHUANIA, Radio Vilnius, 0035-0048, Mar 1, English, ID in English
at 0034.  Female with news items.  Nice voice.  Signal level at S8 with
fades to S4.  WX report at 0035.  Male announcer with talks about power
plant improvenents.  ID 0043.  Talks about nuclear power plant. Several
announcers presents the program.  Nice copy (R. Montgomery,PA)

11,620.0, INDIA, All India Radio, 1?03-1815, Mar 12, English, Female with
news items in EE at tune it.  Nice signal at 10/s9 level.  Id by female
at 1806 "This all India Radio, giving you the news".  Mostly local news
till 1807 with talks about Iran.  Sports at 1809 with talks of a cricket
match.  Headlines repeat at 1809. Id at 1810, "This is the end of the
news from All India Radio"  Male announcer at 1811 with comments about

11,620.0, INDIA, All India Radio, 2119-2135, Mar 5, English, Local pop
music at tune in.  Female announcer at 2128 with comments in EE.  Then
to male announcer with very deep voice and over modulating the audio.
Talks of the over seas service and ID  Some fades at s5 signal level.

items in English at tune in. Id in EE at 1751.   Mostly news of the middle
east and Iraq.  1754 language change to Arabic.  Both programs by male
announcer.  S9 signal level with occassional fades. Must have been a special
broadcast as available listings show it to be total Arabic. (R.

12,085.0, SYRIA, Radio Damascus, 2144-2150, Mar 5, English, Female announcer
in EE heard at 2144.  Very weak modulation.  Carrier at S9 but audio about
25% or less. Some fades but audible.  Id is tentive, Too weak to get clear
id.  Music is what is usually heard.(R. Montgomery,PA)

12,133.5, UNITED STATES, AFRTS, 0020-0030, Mar 1, English, Sports program
with interview of Denis Rodman.  Interesting as usual.  Some slight fades
to noise floor several times but audible.  S7 signal level.  ID at 0028.
