[HCDX] MW Logs from the past night

1160 UNITED STATES, SEP 11 0106 EDT - "News Talk 11-60 WNWE". I don't seem to find anything at all matching what I've heard, though I'm not sure of the second letter; may have been WNWA - wich ends in the same soudn as E or WMWA. The third letter was W like the first one and there seem to be an "E" sound at the end. Didn't had the tape running though ! (Chiochiu-QC)

1220 US unID, SEP 11 0108 EDT - while trying for XEB heard rap gospel and light pop gospel as well as man and woman talking and laughing a bit, then man about "Jesus Christ" (a masochist, by the way !) followed by a phone-in from a listener "Hi ! How are you doing ?" then very short talk with him followed by music. Signal strenght up and down ranging from fairly good to extremely threshold. Occasionnal QRM from apparent Cleveland. Any ideas ? (Chiochiu-QC)

Pan-American DX

610 CUBA, CMMA, Radio Rebelde, Guantanamo SEP 11 0456 UTC - A rather threshold signal fading in and out of nothing with salsa music, // 600 and 5025. 1180 had only fair-strenght remains of nulled WHAM with nothing under. Haven't heard this one in years, in fact, since the fall of 2000 when I officially started DX'ing. Colombia was also semi-regular in 2000-2001 here. (Chiochiu-QC)

640 GUADELOUPE, Radio Guadeloupe SEP 11 0654 UTC - Very poor reception with FF nx and what sounded like announcements of upcoming programs. QRM mainly, at this time, mostly from an unID US middle-of-the-road station (didn't sound at all like WNNZ, CFYR, Progreso or Union Radio !). By the way had Progreso here earlier, but with a rather threshold, fading and messy signal. The first non-Cuban and non-RVC DX this season BELOW 910 kHz this season ! (Chiochiu-QC)

I only sleeped about 5 hours and a half the past night, as I was excited due to the Auroral condx. Aside from the unID domestics, especially the one on 1220 (I'd especially appreciate any help on this), no big surprises.

On foreign DX, Cuba-610 and Guadeloupe-640 were fairly nice, but I expected some Venezuelans and / or Colombians. Generally, condx were very poor toward both domestic and Latins.

By 3 AM EDT when I went to bed, the Auroral condx got even more intenses with even the upper end signals in the 1400's very poor. The GY channels had a weak rumble on them.

Well, that's it for now !
I'll try to encode some of my recent DX including the 1220 apparent southern domestic into real-audio later today,
Be the good DX stuff with you,
Bogdan Chiochiu
