[HCDX] SW loggings from Victoria, BC
KOREA (NORTH) 2850.04, 1532-, KCBS Dec 26 Very strong and clear modulation
with instrumental non-descriptive music. Hard to believe ILG listed power
as 5 kW. Suspect 10 times that at least. (Salmaniw, Victoria, BC)
KOREA (NORTH) 3320.26, 1537-, KCBS Dec 26 South Korean service, again with
strong signals with Koran male vocal. EZL music by North Korean
standards! Good audio again. (Salmaniw, Victoria, BC)
CHINA 4525, 1545-, Nei Menggu PBS Dec 26 Infrequently reported regional
station from Inner Mongolia in presumed Mongolian at S5 level, with weaker
parallels of 4785 (fair/poor), 6195 which would be at least as strong, but
under BBCWS from Kranji, Singapore. 5 + 1 time pips with a very stern
sounding male with presumed IDs. 'Radyo' heard. Mongolian is totally
different sounding than Chinese, and very distinct. Closer to languages of
central Asia. Off at 16:05 with transmitter cutting out a few seconds
later. (Salmaniw, Victoria, BC)
INDIA 4760, 1552-, AIR Dec 26 Quite certain this is AIR Port Blair, with
talk by OM, just above threshold, and sounding English to me. But, there's
been a huge earthquake/tsunamis, so they may very well not be on the air.
(Salmaniw, Victoria, BC)
INDIA 4775, 1556-, AIR Dec 26 AIR Imphal, presumed logging with weak audio,
and talk by OM. Just need a little more signal for audibility!. (Salmaniw,
Victoria, BC)
?CHINA 4940, 1557-, ?China Huayi Broadcasting Corp'n Dec 26 Presumed
logging with this station in Chinese on later than scheduled 1600 sign-off
in definite Chinese and female vocal music at fair level. I was unable to
hear any parallels, though. (Salmaniw, Victoria, BC)
CHINA 4990, 1619-, Hunan PBS, Urumqui? Dec 26 Again a presumed logging of
this station that appears to be on late today, past listed s/off of 1500,
unless this some how is AIR Itanagar, but sure does not sound Indian at
all. Any experts out there who can help? Fair level at least. (Salmaniw,
Victoria, BC)
