[HCDX] Transatlantic MW log, 26 Sept 2004

The early morning hour on 26 September 2004 gave a nice Transatlantic opening on medium wave. So the listening proved more satisfying than an actual antenna test to test some remote controlled Beverage antennas. The new homemade box controlling all the switching proved to be a minor noice source [darn], while the local power line proved to be a major noice source (it does so occasionally and randomly, something to live with). The logs below was thus made with my good, old EWE antennas. A lot shorter than the Beverages, but very often as good performers. And they do not pick up the power line noice at any annoying levels. I like my EWE's more and more.

The log:

1400 2004-09-26 0449 Ecos del Atrato, Colombia, with Tango Club Caracol, playing stars like Alfredo de Angelis and "Rosas de otoño"News at 0500 "presented" (as the phrase goes nowadays) by Bancolombia.

1500 2004-09-26 0422 Radio Dos Mil, Venezuela, with lots of "...en Dos Mil...".

1620 2004-09-26 0355 tent WDHP, Frederiksted, US Virgin Islands, relaying Radio Martí in Spanish (about Internet use, how nice president Bush is treating grupos étnicos with aid from senator Roger Noriega, ending with several shortwave frequencies) switching to BBC news in English at 0400.

1660 2004-09-26 0358 WGIT, Canovanas, Puerto Rico, strong a short period, giving a classis Gigante-ID and some cadena TV calls: "WVEO, Canal 44, Aguadilla, Mayagüez; WIVA, Canal 42, Ceiba, vive su canal. Transmite WGIT, 16-60, Canóvanas, Carolina. La Gigante. Cadena Radio 2 Televisión".
