Portuguese, Ballads and talks. Weak signal w/
occasional peaks above static, peaked at 0936,
unusable by t/out. (Barbour-NH)
3291, GUYANA, VO Guyana, 0906-0920, Sept.20, English,
YL w/ birthday wishes for numerous listeners, ad for
"National Hardware in downtown Georgetown" at 0915
followed by local music. Weak but clear. (Barbour-NH)
3375, BRASIL, (t)R.Nacional, 0948-1002, Sept.21,
Portuguese, OM w/ talks b/w ballads. Tentative ID at
1000. Fair at t/in; poor/noisy by t/out. (Barbour-NH)
4790, UNIDENTIFIED, 1013-1025, Music noted under
occasional data bursts. Very weak, unusable under
static by 1025. Peru? Papua? (Barbour-NH)
4810, MEXICO, R.XERTA, 1023-1037, Sept.20, Spanish, OM
w/ religous talks and music. Full ID at 1030, though
fast-paced announcer made for tough copy. Surprisingly

4845, BOLIVIA, R.Municipal, 0906-0923, Sept.21,
Spanish, Continuous anthem like instrumentals. OM at
0918 with positive, "Radio Municipal" ID then back to
music. Poor/fair; "wobbly" signal with occasional
ute(p) QRM pulses. (Barbour-NH)
5035, BRAZIL, R.Aparecida, 2239-, Sept.20, Portuguese,
"Voz do Brasil" prg. w/ alternating OM and YL, "Radio
Nacional' IDs. Fair/noisy, // 6135 good. (Barbour-NH)
6130, LAOS, (p)Lao Nat'l Radio, 1041-1047, Sept.21,
Vernacular, Sub-continent ballads w/ OM b/w
selections. Crushed by O/C for co-channel BBC via
Delano relay at 1047. Why the need to fire up the
transmitter 13 minutes before a scheduled 30 minute
broadcast?
6185, CHINA, China Huayi B.C.-Fuzhou, 1110-1134,
Sept.21, Mandarin, YL w/ talks over and b/w musical
bits. Interview w/ OM at 1116. Pop-like jingle ID(p)
at 1128. Booming signal. Last winter co-channel Mexico
was dominant at this time until 1200*. Now it's
crushed by China *1100. (Barbour-NH)
7115, CHINA, CRI, 2253-2302, Sept.20, English, YL w/
ticket info and phone number for Backstreet Boys
concert followed by numerous mentions of CRI and URLs
for English service. Unidentifiable electronic noises
at 2258 followed by silence until IS at 2300 and
whisper quiet talks. Presumed antenna change?
Poor/fair until 2258. (Barbour-NH)
7265, GERMANY, Sudwestrundfunk, 2305-2315, Sept.20,
German, "MDR Info" ID at t/in followed by news and
soundbites. Another MDR ID at 2315. Fair until USB
slop at 2312. (Barbour-NH)
7450, GREECE, VO Greece, 1904-1920, Sept.20, Greek, YL
w/ talks b/w musical bits, OM w/ web address, presumed
call-in program w/. various speakers. More music at
1918. Good vox audio, whisper-quiet music audio.

Arabic, OM w/ talks; tentative ID in passing at 2016.
YL w/ news, numerous soundbites continuing through
t/out. Booming signal. (Barbour-NH)

CHINA, 6185, China Huayi B.C., Nice looking aqua-green
"CHBC" logo card w/ EG and CH verie statements
mentioning language (Mandarin), power (15 kW) and site
(Fuzhou). Handwritten note on back of envelope
offering a QSL folder if I wish to send another
report. (I think I shall!) This in 27 days for 1 IRC.
