[HCDX] News about Voice of New Sudan
On 2 Aug I got a brief e-mail from the engineer contracted to
set up the shortwave transmitter of the Voice of New Sudan in
Southern Sudan. He was in Nairobi on his way back home to US.
There was more technical problems, they had managed to do
some testing (9310) with modulation during three days with
about 7kW before they got hit by a lightning "last Sunday".
They are down until they get some capacitors. The engineer will
return to Sudan "in a few weeks".
The frequency will possibly be shifted higher, to 9485, as most of the
receivers in the region will not tune below 9400.
I'll keep DX-community updated as I get more info.
